Our Goals

The Blind River Development Corporation is working on behalf of the community to create employment and strengthen the economy by attracting outside business investment into Blind River. The goal is to bring new businesses to Blind River with one or more of the following characteristics:

• Businesses that are exporting based so that they can provide products or services outside of the Blind River area.
• Businesses that can provide products or services to Blind River that are not currently provided or is under serviced in the area
• Businesses that are in a growth area of the Canadian and Ontario economy.
• Businesses that can have a positive impact on the community from a social, environmental and economical perspective.
• Businesses that are a good fit for the community in that there is an inherent competitive advantage for the business to operate in Blind River.

With consultants hired the investment attraction program is preparing to enter the process of using the information gathered to identify the best business opportunities for the Town of Blind River. Already several useful reports have been developed and are available below that investors with inquires can use to determine where the opportunities are and what they need to know about the Blind River economy to be successful. Investment Opportunities

The following feasibility studies have been developed which outline business opportunities in the industries of branded accommodation, call centers, value added wood sector and the transportation sector. These studies give investors insight in to which areas are most likely to succeed in Blind River and where there are unmet needs in the market.
